Can ChatGPT schedule your social media posts?
ChatGPT can prepare the words. To create or schedule a real post, the conversation needs a compatible connection with the required write actions.
ChatGPT can help write a post, but a conversation only schedules it when a connected tool can perform that action for your account. The connection must support authentication, the destination network and write actions. A caption or a calendar table produced in chat is not itself a scheduled post.
Blitz Planner exposes drafting, scheduling and publishing through its MCP server. Whether a particular assistant can use it depends on that client’s connection and authentication support.
Check the connection before writing the request
For ChatGPT, check the current OpenAI documentation for developer mode and MCP apps. Access to custom apps and write actions depends on your plan and workspace permissions.
Blitz’s current MCP server authenticates with a Blitz API key sent in a request header. Its in-app setup documents Cursor, Codex and Claude Code clients. A ChatGPT integration must support the required authentication; entering the endpoint alone is not a complete setup. Keep credentials in the supported connection configuration, not in a public prompt or post.
If your chat does not have that connection, use it for the writing and bring the reviewed copy into Blitz’s editor.
Start by asking for the actual accounts
A request like “post on TikTok” is ambiguous when several accounts are connected. Ask the assistant to list the accounts in the intended project and identify the exact destination before creating content.
For an initial test, request a draft. That checks whether the conversation can create something real in Blitz without choosing a publishing date or sending it to a network.
Make the request concrete
An illustrative draft request:
Prepare one draft using this exact copy and this saved media. Use the account we selected. Show the caption, media, account and any required settings. Do not schedule or publish it.
After reviewing the draft, a scheduling request should name the full date and timezone:
Schedule the reviewed post on [date] at [time] in [named timezone], on [exact account]. Show the details before the write action, then return the saved post and its status.
Avoid “tomorrow evening” when the user, assistant and audience may be in different timezones.
Separate copy, media and the publishing result
A written video script is not an uploaded video. A link to a media file must be usable by the publishing tool. Check the format against the selected account’s capabilities and review any provider-specific posting settings.
Atelier’s URL-to-week, faceless and Seedance generation flows run inside Blitz. The public MCP tools use existing media and manage posts; they do not start those media-generation workflows from an external chat.
Verify what actually happened
After the action, inspect the post in Blitz and check publishing history. A tool returning a post ID can mean a draft or queued request. A network result and live link, when available, provide stronger evidence of publication.
For TikTok inbox upload, finish the posting flow in TikTok. For a failed destination, correct its reported issue before retrying. The assistant’s last sentence should describe the saved state, not turn “request accepted” into “published.”
